Frederick P. Alimonti, formerly a partner of Haight Gardner Holland & Knight LLP, founded Alimonti Law Offices, P.C. in March of 2001.  Mr. Alimonti is a licensed pilot and has been active in aviation, insurance, and product liability throughout his career.  He is a frequent speaker on aviation topics and an active member of the leadership of the ABA Section of Litigation.


Joy M. Posner, having first worked with us on a part-time basis while in law school at St. John's University School of Law, joined as a full-time associate on November 1, 2002.  Ms. Posner was an editor of the St. John’s Journal of Legal Commentary and authored “Temporary Workers Allowed to Join the Unions:  A Critical Analysis of the Impact of the M.B. Sturgis Decision,” 16 St. John’s J. Legal Comment. 489 (2002).  She also co-authored “Aviation Product Liability Update: Case-Law Outline” which was presented at the 2002 ABA Section of Litigation Aviation Litigation Seminar held in New York for Continuing Legal Education credits.  She recently co-authored “Who’s in Charge Here Anyway? Ethical Issues when Representing an Insured.”  Ms. Posner is admitted to the practice of law in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut and to the federal bars of Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.


Joann D’Emilio, (Of Counsel), specializes in product liability and insurance coverage defense disputes.  She has represented manufacturers of products as diverse as motorcycle helmets and rock-crushing machines in cases throughout the United States.  She has also participated in insurance coverage defense claims brought by foreign insureds against international insurers.  Ms. D’Emilio is admitted to the New York State Bar, the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, and the United States District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.  Ms. D’Emilio graduated St. John’s University School of Law in 1986, where she was an editor of the St. John’s Journal of Legal Commentary.


Marybeth W. Fahey, (Of Counsel), practiced law in the multi-service firm Schenck, Price, Smith, & King, LLP, prior to joining Alimonti Law Offices in early 2004.  There, she performed extensive litigation support, including writing legal documents and assisting litigation partners with trial preparation.  From 1992-1994, Ms. Fahey worked at the Law Offices of Tibby Blum, where she researched and developed “Non-immigrant Visa and the Entertainment Industry” for presentation at Fordham University School of Law Symposium.  Ms. Fahey received an MBA degree from Fordham University Graduate School of Business in 1991. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Business in 1994, where she served on the Litigation Skills Seminar Committee and was appointed to Business Editor of the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal.  Ms. Fahey authored “Test of a Taking: An Analysis of the Cable Act’s 1984 ‘Mandatory Access’ Provision” in 1993.  Ms. Fahey is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and the United States Supreme Court.


Jeremy I. Hager, (of Counsel), joined Alimonti Law Offices in April 2004.  Mr. Hager began the sole practitioner Hager Law Offices in New York City in February 2004 and, for the better part of a decade, has counseled clients in the aviation and insurance industries.  Specializing in civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on aviation, Mr. Hager frequently represents domestic and international air carriers, charter companies, flight schools, fixed-base operators, private pilots and mechanics in matters ranging from property damage, auto, premises and general liability claims to complex contractual disputes, subrogation, products liability and wrongful death actions.  Mr. Hager also regularly advises clients in connection with insurance issues, real estate and business transactions and, analysis, negotiation and drafting of commercial and residential lease agreements and licenses, contracts and insurance policy forms.  Mr. Hager earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Clark University in 1994 and received his Juris Doctor from the Western New England School of Law in May 1997.  He is admitted to the New York and Connecticut State Bars as well as to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.


Stephen E. Walsh, (Of Counsel), is a full time captain for a major airline, assisting us on a part-time basis. Captain Walsh has practiced with Haight Gardner Holland & Knight and Mendes & Mount L.L.P. Mr. Walsh received a Bachelor of Science in Operations Analysis from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland in 1975.  The following year, he received a Master of Arts in Management from Webster University.  Mr. Walsh received his Juris Doctorate degree from Rutgers University School of Law in 1989 and is admitted to the Bars of New York and New Jersey.  He is currently a member of the Lawyer Pilots Bar Association.


Tracey Spencer Walsh, (Of Counsel), practices in the fields of insurance defense, insurance coverage and environmental coverage.  She is a 1994 graduate of Fordham University School of Law.  Ms. Walsh is admitted to the New York and Connecticut State Bars as well as to the federal district courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States


Our Legal Staff

Lois A. Grayson is our paralegal with a medical specialization.  Ms. Grayson has nine years of acute nursing experience.  Since receiving her nursing degree, she has held the positions of Staff Nurse, Case Manager, and Patient Care Coordinator at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, Connecticut and St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York.  Ms. Grayson holds her registered nursing license in both New York and Connecticut.  She is a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York and also holds a BLS and ACLS certification.


Susan A. Higgins, a 1984 graduate of Lehigh University, performs a broad range of client services and litigation support including: initial drafts of pleadings and discovery;  preparation of removal notices and petitions; other court filings;  deposition summaries;  cite checking briefs and other legal authorities; manual and computer-assisted research;  reviewing and organizing new matters.  Mrs. Higgins is also highly skilled in the use of litigation support software and maintains our computerized file system.


Valerie Paolucci, who graduated with honors from New York University in 2003, manages the marketing inventory and budget at Alimonti Law Offices.  She also handles various office projects as well as performs many legal duties, including composing deposition summaries, cite checking and editing briefs and other legal authorities, drafting correspondence, and executing general research to support all aspects of litigation.
