Practice Areas Summary
Aviation. Alimonti Law Offices, P.C. (“ALO”) is proud to serve many sectors of the aviation industry as well as its insurers. Indeed, most of our work is related, in one way or another, to aviation. Active areas of practice include airline defense in both the domestic and international (“Warsaw”) regimes, general aviation (representing repair stations, FBO’s and operators), and manufacturing (product liability defense and subrogation). ALO is a regular presenter worldwide on legal issues of interest to the aviation community and regularly hosts and conducts seminars on-site for clients, as well as at larger public venues. ALO is well known to the NTSB, and Rick Alimonti was cited by the Rand Corporation for his assistance in its comprehensive review of the NTSB “Party System” in 2000. Mr. Alimonti chaired the ABA Litigation Section’s Committee on Aviation Litigation for three years, and founded its New York Aviation Litigation Seminar in 1995 – now an annual institution in the aviation law community. Product Liability. Alimonti Law Offices, P.C. (“ALO”) offers the unique perspective of handling product liability claims from both the defense and “plaintiffs” perspective. In addition to our defense work on behalf of the aviation manufacturers and their insurers, ALO is frequently called upon to represent insurers in subrogation actions against manufacturers of aircraft and their sub-assemblies. This dual perspective helps us to better anticipate [and rebut] opposing arguments and to more accurately evaluate our cases. ALO has extensive experience with the “Economic Loss Doctrine” as applied in jurisdictions throughout the United States. Rick Alimonti and ALO are also active in counseling clients on how to avoid liability and exposure, through presentations to manufacturing clients on “Product Integrity” and related issues of document creation and management.
Insurance Coverage. Alimonti Law Offices, P.C. (“ALO”) has represented insurers and insured in numerous coverage disputes, negotiations, and litigations. ALO has successfully represented insured prevailing upon insurers to defend and indemnify them despite initial denials. ALO is also regularly called upon by insurers to issue opinion letters, reservations of rights, and denials relating to General Liability, Product Liability, Aviation, and Environmental coverage.
